Navagraha stotras and Navagraha mantras can help – pacify any ill effects of the planets and protect the person doing japa on the Navagraha Stotra Mantras from them. Here are the Navagraha Stotra Mantras for
appeasing the nine planets and leading a better life.
As per Sanskrit, the term “Nava” literally means – Nine while the term “Graha” denotes the planets. Here in this article – the term Graha – denotes the nine planets in our solar system.

As per ancient Vedic astrology –Moon, Rahu ( Northnode as per Western astrology ) and Ketu ( Southnode as per Western Astrology ) are considered to be planets too – thus they are counted in.
In Hinduism – it is considered good to first do pooja on Ganesha – to remove all the obstacles on our path and help us complete any project – thus we will first start with the pooja of Ganesha.

Meaning of the above Ganesha mantra – Salutations to God Ganesha, whose face is radiant like that of the moon and who is the beloved of Sun, the deva of all the devas and the greatest of the Cosmic Spirit. May you bless us.

Meaning of the mantra – My salutation to the Navagrahas ie. the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu.

Surya Mantra
Japaakusuma sankaashaM kaashyapeyaM mahaaDhyuthima |
Thamorima sarvapaapaghanaM praNamaami dhivaakarama ||
Meaning of the Surya mantra – I pray to the Sun, the day-maker, destroyer of all sins, the enemy of darkness, of great brilliance, the descendent of Kaashyapa, the one who shines like the japaa flower.
How many times to chant the Surya mantra – Six times

Chandra Mantra – Mantra of the Moon
DhaDhishankha thushaaraabhaM kSheerodhaarnava saMbhavama |
Namaami shashinaM somaM shambhormukuta bhooShanama ||
Meaning of the Chandra mantra – I pray to the Moon who shines cool like the white shell – the one who arose from the ocean of milk, who has a hare on him, Soma, who is the ornament of Shiva’s hair.
How many times to chant the Chandra mantra – Ten times

Mangal Mantra – Mantra of Mars
Dhara Nee garbha saMbhoothama vidhyuthkaanthi samaprabhama |
KumaaraM shakthihasthaM thaM mangalaM praNamaaMyahama ||
Meaning of the Mangal mantra – I pray to Mars, born of Earth, who shines with the same brilliance as lightning, the young man who carries a spear.

Budh Mantra – Mantra of Mercury
Priyaangu kalikaashyaamaM rupeNa prathimaM buDhama |
SauMyaM sauMyaguNopethaM thvaM buDhaM praNamaaMyahama ||
Meaning of the Mercury ( Budh ) mantra – I pray to Mercury, dark like the bud of millet, of unequalled beauty, gentle and agreeable.

Guru Mantra – Mantra of Jupiter
DhevaanaaMcha RishiNaaMcha gurukaanchana sannibhama |
BuDhdhir bhoothaM thrilokeshaM thvaM namaami bRihaspathima ||
Meaning of the Guru ( Jupiter ) mantra – I pray to the benevolent Jupiter, the teacher of gods and rishis, intellect incarnate, lord of the three worlds.
How many times to chant the Guru mantra – Sixteen times

Sukhra ( Venus ) Mantra – Mantra of Venus
Himakundha mRiNaalabhaM dhaithyaanaM paramaM guruma |
Sarvashasthra pravakthaaraM bhaargavaM praNamaaMyahama ||
Meaning of the Sukhra ( Venus ) mantra – I pray to the God Venus, the ultimate preceptor of demons, promulgator of all learning, he who shines like the fiber of snow-white jasmine.
How many times to chant the Sukhra mantra – Twenty times

Shani ( Saturn ) Mantra – Mantra of Saturn
Neelanjana samabhasam |
RaviputhraM yamaagrajama  ||
Chaayaa maarthaanda sambhootham  |
Tvam namaami shanaishcharam ||
Meaning of the Shani ( Saturn ) mantra – I pray to Saturn, the slow moving, born of Shade and Sun, the elder brother of Yama, the offspring of Sun, he who has the appearance of black collyrium.
How many times to chant the Shani mantra – Nineteen times

Rahu ( Northnode ) Mantra – Mantra of Rahu
ArDhakaayaM mahaaveerama chandhraadhithya vimarDhanama |
Simhika garbha saMbhuthaM thvaM raahuM praNamaaMyaham ||
Meaning of the Rahu mantra – I pray to Rahu, having half a body, of great bravery, the eclipser of the Moon and the Sun, born of Simhika.
How many times to chant the Rahu mantra – Eighteen times

Ketu ( Southnode ) Mantra – Mantra of Ketu
Phalasha pushp-sankaashaM thaarakaagraha masthakama |
RaudhraM raudhraathmakaM ghoraM tvam kethuM praNamaaMyaham||
Meaning of the Ketu mantra – I pray to the great Ketu, who has the appearance of Palash flower, the head of stars and planets, fierce and terrifying.
How many times to chant the Ketu mantra – Seven times
Once you finish doing the above mantras – finish with the following peace invocation mantra to coclude the Nava graha stotram.

The peace mantra goes like this:
Aum Brahma Murari Tripurarntakari Bhanuh Shashi ||
Bhumih Suttau Budhasscha Gurusscha Shukrah Shanih Rahu ||
Ketuh Sarva Graha mama Suprabhanttam Kuru mein Shanti ||
Shanti Su-Shanti ||
Meaning of the mantra – This is the offering of peace to the three great worlds ie. the terrestrial, spiritual and the celestial.

To conclude – let me tell you that doing the japa of the Navagraha Stotra Mantra everyday will do away with any doshas ( negative effects ) you might have in your Kundli ( horoscope ) – due to the nine planets.
